Katy,
You always have such great ideas that help build strong and loving families. I think these ideas are a great way to grow your bond with your children and was thrilled to see that it wasn't a long list of things that cost a million dollars because that's not what makes a family.

When I was growing up two of my favorite traditions were on our birthdays my mom would wake us up and tell us the story of the day we were born. Even though I will be 27 years old in July, it never feels like my birthday until I hear the story of my birth.

The other great tradition that I remember is we used to make mom breakfast in bed on mother's day. Considering what a horrific cook I am now, I can't imagine that the food we prepared was even edible (even though I am sure that my sister Jessica made it so) and my mom always acted as if it was the best meal she had ever had and raved as if it had come from the fanciest restaurant.
